Overview

 The L&R Group of Companies has been a leader and innovator in the parking industry for the past 60 years. With over 125 facilities in 9 states across the country, we are one of the nation’s largest parking operators. The company is also an owner and operator of a large and varied real estate portfolio. We are a seeking an initiative driven, motivated, self-starter to join our Finance Team as a Sr. Accountant. This position would be based out of our Downtown LA corporate office.   

Qualifications

 

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Pivot tables, vlookup, table creation, filters, text boxes, table tools, concatenate formula, graphs & charts, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related field required
  • 3-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with month end close and associated responsibilities; journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and analysis
  • Financial reporting experience
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages such as Timberline and Yardi
  • Experience in a paperless and cloud hosted environment
  • Tax compliance experience for nationwide local and sales tax preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate journal entries are recorded by maintaining supporting documentation
  • Providing an audit trail and reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Support the month and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for areas, as assigned
  • Provide support for the annual financial statement review
  • Assist with tax compliance, audits, and tax returns
  • Create and analyze liability, asset and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
  • Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting
  • Maintain ongoing reports, databases, trackers, files, update and organize shared drives/files, etc. as needed
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
  • Liaise with Controller to improve financial procedures
